I was organizing the cold room and, although I wasn't expecting it, the chore filled me full of anticipation for colder weather. There must be something primal about filling the cold room with the year's harvest that connects me to the natural instinct for preparing to hunker down for winter. It's getting darker sooner, the mornings are noticeably colder and I've got the urge to collect wood. Autumn is coming and the yellow bits in the trees make that easy to realize. I will enjoy these brighter nights for as long as I can. How will you enjoy your last days of summer? Share in the comments.
