I was so excited to see the farmer arrive today with his equipment and I can't say why.  The oat field is beautiful and he's taking it all down - this means no more photographing clients amongst the golden stalks but still I was filled giddy energy.  Back in the day harvest time was followed by harvest festivals where people celebrated with eating, contests, music and other fun activities.  Could it be that I'm influenced by my farming ancestors?  Or perhaps I'm looking forward to extending our daily walks into the newly accessible field?  As it turns out the field actually still looks beautiful and golden.  Tonight's walk is going to include a new route.
